Day 11-10-9-8-7-6-5 House Update

Day 11
They started painting the trim. Nothing on inside had been touched.

Day 10
They did part of the backsplash in the kitchen. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! They also finished the trim, but not the garage door.

Day 9
Garage door painted. Brick fixed. Nothing done on inside. But it looks SO pretty!

Day 8
Thanksgiving.

Day 7
Nothing done.

Day 6
Plumbing hardware put on everywhere but master shower and tub. We have toilets! (lol) They also put in the mirrors.
Carpet installed. Not really sure why since baseboards have not been painted, and men in work boots will still be tromping through there to work on master bath tiling and plumbing. Not thrilled with that decision.

  5. Put in granite counters
  6. Paint the walls
  7. Paint the house trim and dormers and garage door
  8. Put in floor moldings
  9. Paint the moldings
  10. Put stone around fireplace (and island wall) and connect it to gas line
  11. Put in appliances
  12. Put in our blinds
  13. Put in tile floors and carpet
  14. Brick the house
  15. Install garage door windows

  22. Clean
  23. and Inspect.
We have asked them about 10 times if they are SURE they can still finish on time and they have all but made fun of us for being skeptical. But all of our friends who are building and close AFTER us have houses that are fully complete. And they have changed the closing date now 3 times. And Jay has spent hours on the phone scheduling deliveries, movers (which you must do weeks in advance in Midland), and utilities to be turned on. I had to take a personal day to get a sub for our moving day (which is no small feat in MISD since you have to ask permission of not one but two bosses 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE...don't get me started on that one). DR Horton, please don't pull a Midland on us :(
