Hidden Messages

This morning, we finally wrote messages and scriptures on the beams of our house.

Braden also marked the spot for his pets forever.

We Have a Roof!

On Thursday, Aug 7, they started putting up the roof!

It's Starting to Look Like a House!

Then, the next day they were beginning to cover the roof.

Ours is the Furthest on the Right

OMG! Can't Wait to Have a Garage Again!

And then on the 9th, we returned to see the finished product!

Now, we wait for them to shingle it and add the dormers :) On the 6th, they had also delivered our brick! And it is beautiful! Can't wait to see how it looks with the dark brown trim!

Also, on Day 4 in Garland...

Babe's

That night we ate at mine and Jay's favorite chicken house, Babe's in Garland!

It went really well and something really, REALLY strange happened, too. We had come to the same restaurant over Spring Break around the same time of day. We were almost finished with our meal when we noticed Braden kept staring at the huge old fashioned clock on the wall and we asked him why. He said he was waiting for it to be 5 o'clock because that's when the lights would go on....and we were like "Huh?" At the time it was about 4:50pm. So we kept eating. Then, all of a sudden, this happened:

And, we looked over at the clock. Big hand on the 12, little hand on the 5.

 We Were Like

It was chicken dance time. I've been there a hundred times and I've never noticed the lights or the time. Then, our waitress came over and we told her what happened and she said they do it at random times......so the kid is either a psychic genius or she was wrong and my son is ridiculously observant.

Either way, it was way spooky.

"Mommy, they put the paper on!"

On July 31st, our home's frame was built. On August 1st, they put the finishing touches on the frame and, as Braden says, put the paper on. LOL

After we got photos of the outside, we decided to step onto our front porch and cross the threshold of our new house together, holding hands as a family. It was a powerful moment and I will never forget the feeling we had, walking into each room for the first time. Truly grateful for what got us here...
