They Started the Frame!

I talked a few days ago about all the updates that have gone on in our neighborhood in the last couple of weeks. Well, today was the motherload. This morning, after dropping Landri at school, Braden and I drove out to the house to see if they had put the wood for the frame near our house yet (signaling the next step was coming soon). This is what we saw:

Getting Ready to Lay the Framing!!!!!!

That was at approximately 9am this morning.

As tempting as it was to drive by after picking Landri up, I did not because I knew Jay would want to go after work. And 5 minutes after getting home, he text me exactly that. LOL. Plus, we were going to the "man cave", the place he lived with his dad on the ProPetro yard from Aug 2011-July 2012, to look at the table that was handed down to us from his parents (which used to be in our homes, but we currently don't have room for) and decide if we want to keep it or...whatever. We decided to keep the table, possibly refinish or paint it, and moved on to the new house to see what had been accomplished.

Um, a ton. This was at approximately 6pm this evening. As we turned the corner into our neighborhood, my breath literally caught in my throat and I braced myself on the dashboard.

Oh. My. Gosh.

Then every bad thing that has happened to our family in the last four years came into my head, how many times we wept together over our losses and hardships, the sheer reality of what this house meant for us...and I couldn't keep the tears back.

Up-Close View

And, of course, I had brought my camera and got out of the car and snapped a few photos of the front before jumping back in Jay's truck. I close the door behind me when the man in the photo (2nd from the left) is running towards us, and Jay hollers "It's okay, it's our house!" The guy laughed and shook our hands, introducing himself as David, our new builder. He was so awesome and made us feel 100% comfortable. It didn't hurt that he had moved to Midland just this week from....DFW!!!! And when Braden was asked by him what he thought of the house, B's response was "When are you gonna put up the bricks?" LOL. Love it!

It's going to be really hard to stay away :)
