Jay's Birthday

Jay's birthday fell during the week, so he had to work that day. The kids and I went swimming with some friends of ours at the local park.

Then, we headed out to Baskin Robbins to pick up Jay's Reece's PB Choc ice cream cake :) Have you ever taken two kids under age 6 to an ice cream shop and NOT let them have ice cream?

ME NEITHER!

Did I totally spoil their dinner? Yes! But it was still fun ;)

Jay got home from work and we drove out to see how the house was coming along since it had been a few days (for him....I go every day after I pick up Landri *shhhhhh....don't tell!*). Absolutely ZERO had been done to it since my birthday (May 23rd) so we were getting ridiculously anxious. As we drove up, we noticed the other two houses on our block had their foundation poured already that day, but had they done anything to ours yet???

OMG we have plumbing lines!!!!!

 Backyard Trenching

Front Yard (first time we've caught someone working on our lot!)

Both of us were freaking out a little over the irony that the only time things had been done on our house was our EXACT birthdays.....it is a little strange, right?! At that rate, the house should be finished around the time Landri enters college ;)

When we got home it was cake time!

Braden singing "Happy Birthday" for the 4th time because, apparently, me lighting the cupcakes was deemed an interruption....so yeah.

Funny story. I was trying to capture a photo of him blowing out his candles. But after I lit it (because Jay had to keep Landri back) and stepped back to take a photo (and wait for Braden to finish the song AGAIN), I would try to snap the photo but Landri would blow it out before I could get them in focus....this happened three times. Because was I allowed to just have Jay pretend to blow them out? No. Why? Because Landri would try to stick her face in the photo.....So, yes, we redid it all three times to get the photo. LOL. And did I get what I was after????? YES!!!!  :p

Ms. Sneaky-Pants blowing them out before her daddy could

And again...

  FINALLY! Perfect!
