Dallas Trip (June 2014) - Day 1

One of the biggest blessings in our life is that Jay has a job that pays for him to go to training classes in the DFW area. It means for a few days we get to be near my family and our friends without having to stress about time off from work. Beyond amazing.

We left our house Sunday morning, June 8th, and we took two separate cars for the first time since we've moved here. Since he will be at class all day, having two cars there allowed me to go do things with the kids and not worry about being back by a certain time to pick him up or drop him off. It was also the first time I had the car on trip ALL TO MYSELF!!!!! I turned on Spotify and cranked it up and had THE BEST time! It was my little vacation :)

Ready to hit the road again

We made it to Mesquite around 4pm and unloaded our stuff and then headed out to grab dinner on the way to visit my brother's place to see them and Mom. First, we went to Cheddar's but it was an hour wait, so we went up 635 to the Chili's on NW Hwy in Garland. Man, it brings back memories! How many times did I go there with my friends after dances, games, church, etc? Little did I know that one day I'd be dining there with my hubby and our two kids......CRAZY!

Then we made it to my brother's and we all got to hang out with mom (who just kicked cancer's BUTT by the way). She was super exhausted but it was so nice getting to just be in the same room with her since I haven't seen her since the diagnosis. UGH! After that, I got to hold my sweet and super happy/smiley nephew Hudson who is just a few months old but OMG so cute!

By the time, we got back to the hotel it was way past bedtime and they got to try out their brand new sleeping bags!
