Busy, busy, busy

So, this past week was STAAR testing at school which meant two days of staring at students while holding my eyelids open for five straight hours. Seriously. It sucked. Then it was non-stop catching up with lesson plans and yearbook stuff and technology problems that I am dealing with in my classroom that have made for a HUGE headache.

But, that's work stuff. I have also been crazy busy as soon as I get home with Braden's soccer practices/games, his homework projects, and things like, you know, FEEDING and BATHING the children.

Yesterday, I was able to celebrate the coming of a friend of mine's new addition, Nolan. And, today, her 6-yr-old daughter's bday. This was the fourth bday party in 5 weeks that B had. And despite a little bit of a hit to our wallet this month, it was such a blessing to see the relationships Braden has built (especially the ones he has built 100% on his own at school) because two years ago I didn't know if that would ever be possible.

Having fun with his buddy playing Air Hockey at the bday party last week at Cinergy...and he won!!!! Get it, bubba!

More Cinergy bday fun

Now, back to Lauren's bday party today...

I was so proud of my kiddos for overcoming their fears at the party today. It was held at Mller's Gymnastics Academy in Midland and they both had an awesome time! But Braden was very VERY tentative about getting on a big, bouncy trampoline. The teacher got on it with him the first time just to hold his hand and show him that it was stable. But his sensory problems got the best of him and he wanted off pretty quickly. He enjoyed the other, less bouncy trampolines though.

Landri was running around like a crazy kid and would AL-MOST jump off the end of the trampoline runway into the soft cushion but then would turn around or beg for my hand. Again and again and again. Then one of the teachers saw this and brought out a higher cushion so it was only a 12 inch drop instead of 24in. This worked! But then after cake, someone had moved the higher cushion away and we wondered what she would do.

In the meantime, I turned around and saw my other kid...

And, of course, there was cake :)

And then my future flashed in front of me....

Landri was chased by a little boy who wanted to hold her hand.

And she played hard to get...

Until finally, she sat down with him...
Yeah, I am SO not ready for this drama!!!!! OMG!!!!
